Project Intelligence SA is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and your rights as a data subject.
Who we are
Project Intelligence SA is an independent construction intelligence research initiative based in South Africa. We produce briefings, intelligence notes and industry research for the built environment sector. We are not a consultancy and we do not sell products or services.
What information we collect
- Survey responses — discipline, role, organisation size, region, sector, and answers to research questions. Email address is optional and only collected if you request the free industry report.
- Enquiry form submissions — name, email address, organisation, role and message content when you contact us via the website.
- No cookies, no tracking — we do not use cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels or any third-party tracking tools on this website.
Why we collect it
- Survey data is collected solely for the purpose of producing aggregated, anonymised industry research. No individual responses are ever published or shared.
- Enquiry form data is used to respond to your enquiry and, with your consent, to notify you when new research is published.
- Email addresses provided via the survey are used only to deliver the free industry report. You will not be added to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
How it is stored
- Survey responses are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to Project Intelligence SA.
- Enquiry form submissions are received via Netlify Forms and accessible only to Project Intelligence SA.
- No personal data is shared with, sold to, or processed by any third party for commercial purposes.
- Google's infrastructure (Google Sheets, Google Apps Script) is used for data collection. Google's own privacy and security standards apply to data stored on their servers.
Retention period
- Survey responses are retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of collection, after which they are permanently deleted.
- Email addresses collected via the survey are deleted once the industry report has been distributed, unless you have separately consented to ongoing communication.
- Enquiry form data is retained for 12 months or until the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled.
Who has access
Only the principal researcher at Project Intelligence SA has access to raw personal data. No employees, contractors, or third parties have access to individual survey responses or enquiry submissions.
